Review - Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Obsidian (Lux, #1)
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I absolutely loved this book. It kept me hooked from page one. Jennifer L. Armentrout really has a way with words and keeping the reader entertained. I didn't find any parts slow at all.

Katy is amazing. She is so real as a character. Early on she refers to Daemon as a (view spoiler)[Douchebag (hide spoiler)] and I knew from there I was going to like her =P I love that she's a book lover!!

...and then there's Daemon. Holy Hell. The ultimate bad boy. I fell for him, hard.

I know some have compared this to Twilight but honestly only a few minor parts could be "similar" to Twilight(and a dozen other YA novels--nothing can be completely unique anymore) Jennifer has created a unique concept of Aliens that is different from anything I have ever read. Like a lot of recent YA novels, it has an inhumanly good looking male lead that is an ass in the beginning but turn out to actually have a heart. In saying that, it is still in a class all it's own.

I would recommend this to anyone and everyone who loves YA lit with romance, action, wit, and a sexy bad boy.
