Review - Feed by Mira Grant

Feed (Newsflesh Trilogy #1)
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

After being recommended this so many times by my friends on Goodreads I knew I had to give it try to see what all the fuss was about. While I don't feel I'll be raving about it, It was still a really good read.

The book starts out HIGHLY detailed from page one. Mira Grant goes through extensive world building unlike any I've seen before. It was tedious at times to get through so much information, however I can now see a lot of it is necessary. Mira builds a world very different from our own and it is extensively researched. She doesn't leave anything out, hence the great amounts of detail.

I knew going in this that it was a "Zombie Book" but it turned out to not be your traditional Zombie book. While Zombies surround the main characters and have shaped how they live, it is much more a thriller filled with suspense and deceit.

The main characters are very likable and you root for them to the very end. Mira throws in some twists along the way that you don't see coming which keeps you reading.

If you can get past the hordes of information and descriptive detail you are flooded with, Feed turns out to be a very interesting, emotional, and thrilling read. I definitely recommend it.

  1. I've been seeing this book for a few times. Glad to hear that the characters are likable. I'm not sure if I'll be able to get past the very detailed parts but I'll give a book a try. Thanks for sharing your review!
